Integrating Accessibility into Online Higher Education

More than 1 billion people in world today have a disability (World Health Organization, 2011). Therefore, it is critical that educational institutions and leaders work collaboratively to discuss, develop, and share policies and best practices to increase educational and workforce accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Sloan Consortium has created the Accessibility Special Interest Group (SIG) to bring together educational leaders and renowned experts to increase global awareness and commitment to accessibility. We invite you to become a member of Sloan’s Accessibility SIG and assist us turn educational and work “opportunities” into realities.

 
Mission
The Sloan-C Accessibility Special Interest Group is committed to increasing global awareness and institutional commitments to accessibility as it relates to educational opportunities, student success, and policies and best practices for individuals with disabilities.
 
Vision
To increase enrollment, retention, progression, and graduation rates for students with disabilities in online and blended degree and certificate programs by assisting educational institutions worldwide with integrating policies and best practices that support accessibility and student success.
